I get asked a lot about mental health. One of the main things that people have a hard time understanding is that when your brain is in a bad mood, it’s hard to be productive. So many times when I have people say, “I’m depressed,” they’re really just saying, “I’m not very productive.” There has to be more to it. There has to be a solution other than getting medication.
Yes, depression is real. When I was in high school I had a really hard time with it and I have learned that it is not always about your emotions. Sometimes it is about your body, and if you are tired, you can just take a nap and you will be just fine. You just need to take care of yourself.
But if you have the opposite problem, you can find reasons to feel depressed. There have been times before where I have not been feeling so great, but I have been able to find a way to get myself to the gym or go someplace else. When I had my most recent depressive episode, I was able to find a way to feel better. I was able to force myself to take a nap, and then I was able to come right back.
I think depression is a very real thing, and it is something that many people have to deal with, but it is something that can be treated. There are many different types of depression, and there are many different things you can do to help yourself feel better. I myself have some type of depressive disorder, but sometimes this type of depression can be so debilitating that it has a serious effect on a person’s life, but it can also be so debilitating that it affects the person’s relationships.
